House Chess Competition

During term two, a House Chess tournament took place which involved 33 students. After five weeks of intense competition, Sapphire House emerged victorious finishing two points clear of Topaz House in second position. Emerald House and Ruby House finished third and fourth respectively. 

All students who took part in this event are to be congratulated for their enthusiastic participation. Special congratulations are due to Param Dave of Year 8 who was the highest individual scorer in the tournament achieving a perfect score of 5 wins from his 5 games. Sanjay Bandla of Year 7, who scored 4 wins and a draw, and Alexander Tari of Year 8, who won 4 games, are also to be commended for their individual performances.

Given the enthusiastic participation of so many students in this event, Glen Eira College is very much looking forward to competing in interschool chess tournaments later this year.
