French News

On 14th July, we celebrated Bastille Day in style and a la francaise! The French flag was flying above the school while in French classes students learnt about the significance of Bastille Day and how it is celebrated in France.

Students and staff enjoyed delicious traditional French crepes sold by Crepes for Change. Crepes for Change is a social enterprise and all the profits go to funding programs to fight youth homelessness.

Congratulations to all Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 students who participated in the Berthe Mouchette French poetry competition! This year the competition was conducted online. Students had to memorise and recite a French poem studied in class with their teacher. Our students performed very well. The following students achieved a perfect score and are going through to the finals:

Year 7: Kashvi Gupta, Pranav Swarup, Marija Rajchevikj, Daksha, Daksha Menariya, Barak Shemesh, Gautham Sriram, Max Zelener, Penelope Ralogaivau.

Year 8: Emma Blair, Saskia De Bruin, Imogen Matthews, Daisy Merrifield

Year 9: Shenhav Shushan, Elizabeth Waters, James Lee

Félicitations! And good luck for the finals!
