COVID RESTRICTIONS ACROSS SCHOOLS

Please be aware of the following DET Operational Guidelines: Mask Regulations & Visitors

  • Mask must be worn indoors at all times for all parents, visitors and staff (unless they are teaching or exempt).
  • Masks are recommended to be worn outdoors where physical distancing of 1.5 m cannot be maintained.
  • Schools should continue, where possible, to limit non-essential visitors to school premises. 

School Activities & Events

  • Incursions & Excursions are permitted at this time. Record keeping obligations must be adhered to by any visitors attending the school for the purpose of an incursion.
  • Interschool activities are permitted at this time. Record keeping obligations must by adhered to by staff and students visiting from other schools.
  • Community groups can use school facilities when the use complies with permitted activity in the community. Please ring our service providers directly to check if they will still proceed with their sessions this week: Immerse Drama, Tennis, Kelly Sports, Piano, Red Notes and UJEB 
  • School tours for prospective families can recommence. Groups should not exceed current public gathering limits. Density limits must be applied to any spaces accessed and record keeping obligations must be adhered to by any visitors attending the school for the purpose of a school tour.
  • School events subject to the Public Event’s Framework are suspended, unless permitted via the PEF approval pathway, including school open days.
  • Assemblies and large gatherings - Year level or whole school assemblies are permitted when attended only by staff and students from a single school, however schools may choose to defer these at this time.
  • Professional development and staff meetings - Should be conducted online or deferred (unless essential face-to-face training for first aid, anaphylaxis, or infection control. In these instances, density limits of 1 person per 4 square metres apply).

Contact Tracing

  • The use of Service Victoria QR codes for electronic record keeping is mandatory for all workplaces to enable the effective contact tracing of any COVID-19 cases.  This now includes all education sector workplaces, including schools.  

QR codes will be required to be used by:

  • all parents who enter our main office 
  • all visitors, including contractors, external Department staff and building and maintenance staff

QR code check ins will not be required for staff or students.

 Parents are reminded that there is no entry into our buildings at this stage unless you require support and assistance from the main office. One adult permitted at a time in the office please. You must QR Code upon each visit as well as use the iPad for all other signing in/out procedures.

COVID-19

Information that might be of assistance to you in talking to your child about COVID-19 is available. If you are concerned about your wellbeing or that of your child, please contact the school so we can talk with you about how we can best assist. Other sources of support include: Parent Line 13 22 89 and Kids Helpline 1800 55 1800. 

 

The Department COVID-19 helpline is also available on Monday 15 February and weekdays from 8:30am to 5pm on 1800 338 663. If you know a family who speak a language or languages other than English and you know they would like further information, interpreting services are available by phoning 131 450 first. 

 

For families with a child with a disability, the Association for Children with a Disability (ACD) has additional information.

And, finally, a reminder that if you, your child, or a family member develops symptoms of COVID-19 you should get tested at a COVID-19 testing facility and stay home.
