Around The Arts

Alisa Houlihan

This week as we have returned to face-to-face learning, there has been a lot happening in the Arts area.

Our classes have enjoyed being able to reconnect with a wider range of materials to create practical work and as you can see, there are some amazing works being finalised.

Year 9 3D Art

These classes are learning techniques to construct work out of clay. These birds are pinch pots that have been joined together to make birds.

Year 10 3D Art

These classes are making a rolled a slab to sculpt a face.

Year 9 Art

The year nines have been working with line and shade to create ribbon drawings.

Year 7 Music

This week our year 7 classes have been selecting the instrument that they will learn for the semester.

We have had to make some changes in the way that this is conducted due to COVID restrictions, however all students studying music this semester have now chosen an instrument.

Next week, these students will have a lesson with a specialist teacher in a small group to learn how to put the instrument together, make a sound and take care of the instrument.

Students can then take those instruments home.

The students will be given a timetable for their small group lessons and will need to bring their instrument to school on those days.

Instrumental Lessons.

If your student is not completing year seven music this semester and would like to learn a musical instrument, there are still some vacancies in our instrumental program.

Students can have lessons on a range of instruments and as the College subsidises lessons, the fees are $20 per individual lesson and $10 per person for a paired lesson (where available).

More information is available in our enrolment form that can be emailed to you or hard copy is available from Reception.
