Dear families,

As the term draws to an end, I would like to announce some staffing changes that will take place in Term 3.

The College is farewelling Mr Glenn Lesley, who has been replacing Adele McKee while she has been on leave. Glenn has been teaching English in the junior school as well as Unit 1 Psychology. The College would like to thank Glenn for his work in Semester 2 2020 and Semester 1 this year.

In addition, we have four staff members going on extended leave in Term 3. Miss Leesa Sharkey will be on leave for all of Semester Two. Leesa has been replaced by Mr Colin Macgowan, who is a very experienced Biology and General Science teacher.

Di Towers and James Fitzpatrick will also be on leave for the whole of term 3. Di will be replaced by Mr Doug Bryt, who is a very experienced Mathematics teacher. James will be replaced by Ms Jayne Cogger.

Our Year 10 and 11 examinations are taking place this week. These assessments provide important opportunities for students to gain experience with sitting formal examinations, which we hope will better prepare them for their Unit 4 VCE external examinations in the future.

Exam results do not define us as students or people, we just expect students to prepare to the best of their ability and do their best on the day.

I would like to wish all Year 11 students along with staff attending the Top End Tour a safe and enjoyable trip. The lead up to this trip, which was cancelled in 2020, has again been quite stressful due to the rest of the country closing their borders to Victoria.

Thankfully, the NT Government opened borders to Victorian regional towns late last week and the trip can go ahead.

During our final week of school our Year 10 students will be taking part in our work experience program. We would like to thank our Year 10 students and families for organising placements and wish the students an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

I would also like to acknowledge all the businesses who have accepted work experience students, many of these businesses have close connections with Trinity College and a number are operated by current families.

As this is our final newsletter for the term, I would like to wish all students a safe and happy holiday and I hope that as many families as possible will get the opportunity to spend some quality time together.

I also hope that the COVID situation continues to improve so that restrictions can ease further, which will allow local businesses that have been impacted to prosper once again.
