Mother's Day Stall

On the 6th and 7th of May the 'Show me the Money' Year 9 Economics Class held a Mother’s Day stall for the students and teachers at Trinity College Colac.

We made homemade gifts to sell, such as Chocolate bouquets, Mum survival kits, succulents, bird feeders, bath salts and a variety of other gifts.

With the help of Joe Muvengi, and the Treasure Hunters’ team and their kind donation of an assortment of gifts, Andrena Macfarlane with her beautiful soaps, Lorraine Leyonhjelm for her coat hangers, and our teacher Cathy Phelan it all came together.

The store was a great success, and the students raised over $500, which they are giving to local Colac charity Barwon Child, Youth and Family Services.

But the biggest thankyou goes to Gayle Johnson for her organizing of the whole event from the homemade gifts to approaching local retailers for donations.

Gayle also contributed a huge amount to the stall with her homemade cards, and she dedicated a lot of time to each group of students to assist them in the process of making their homemade gifts.

Overall, the Show me the Money Year 9 Economics Class give a huge thank you for the opportunity to help such a worthwhile charity, and for the business experience that was provided.

We hope there were lots of happy Mums, Grandmas and carers out there!
