Board news

We are very fortunate indeed to be welcoming two new people to the role of Board member of Shelford Girls’ Grammar.

Bec Brideson is a Shelford parent and a marketing professional with a wealth of business and marketing experience that she brings to both the Development Committee and the Board itself.

Bec began her career as a Creative Director working on an extensive range of branding and marketing campaigns. After five years as a senior leader, she opened her own business, Venus Comms, in which she sought to establish a values-led and inclusive environment. Bec grew her business to a mid-size agency and 12 years, expanded in to a communications consultancy; lending her expertise to a variety of businesses, agencies and organisations as a consultant, teacher and coach. Bec is a well renowned speaker, particularly in the area of female entrepreneurship, marketing to women and focusing on female equality in business. Bec’s interest and passion in relation to empowering women, her strategic and management expertise and creative and marketing skills, are a wonderful asset for Shelford and we are thrilled that Bec has agreed to join the Shelford Board.

Elly Bloom is a Shelford alumni and local community member, who is a senior leader with experience in strategy, transformation, marketing, digital, customer experience, and venture capital across a variety of industries. She has extensive experience within the financial sector and prior to this worked in the arts industry in management and marketing roles. Elly began her education with Bachelor degrees in Planning and Design and Architecture (Honours) from Melbourne University. She has gone on to complete an MBA and to work with a focus on general management and marketing, with particular interest in strategies for service businesses.

Elly has developed corporate, business and marketing strategies encompassing the interests of a variety of stakeholders, both public and private. She is familiar within many networks and current on issues faced by a range of sectors in Australia particularly where it relates to technology, customer experience and innovation.

Like Bec, Elly is contributing to the Development Committee and the Board generally. As an accomplished alumnus, it is a delight to welcome Elly back to Shelford in this capacity and we are very fortunate to benefit from her expertise and experience across a range of areas.
