Principal Report

A word from Ian
There is so much happening over the next two weeks as school comes to a close. It is very hard to believe that 2020 is nearly over. What a year!
But we have learnt alot about ourselves and what is really important. I think we all realise that family and people are the most important thing. As we head to 2021 lets remember what we have learnt through this pandemic and make 2021 all the better.
Last Day of School
Our last day of school is Friday 18th December at 12.30pm.
Morning of 18th December
Parents are welcome to visit the classroom on this day to drop children off and see your child's classroom teacher. Please wear a mask and socially distance and also only stay for a few minutes.
You will only be allowed on site for this morning from 8.30am to 9.00am. Pick up will be normal exit areas.
Canteen
We are excited to welcome Jude Fina Foods as the canteen provider for next year. The Canteen will be open every day and orders can easily be made using the QKR app. Further details will be provided next year.
School Concert
Our school concert will be live on the 9th December at 7pm. We will send the link next Wednesday. Thank you to all of our Parents for your assistance with costumes.
Thank you to the teachers and children for all your work but a very big thank you to Katie for her work in coordinating the concert, developing the concept of the concert and bringing it all together.
We hope you enjoy!
Year 6 students
We wish our amazing Year 6 students well as they prepare for Year 7 in 2021. They have had a disappointing year but will be stronger for all their resilience and flexibility.
We are excited to be able to take our Year 6 children surfing on the 15th of December. this will be an exciting end to the year.
Year 6 Graduation
The Year 6 graduation is on Thursday the 17th December. With the latest easing of restrictions we are able to invite parents to be a part of this.
School Awards
We are again able to hold school assemblies so on the 14th of December we will hold our whole school Awards ceremony. Unfortunately parents are not able to attend. School Captains for 2021 will also be announced at this assembly.
Classes for 2021
Next year all classes will be straight classes. We are growing as a school and will have 660 students. We will publish classes and teachers on the 17th of December. Children will have transition to their new class in the last week of school.
Prep Transitions
We have been enjoying meeting our new 2021 Preps over the last few days. We are excited to welcome them to school.
Administration changes
Earlier this Term we said goodbye to Beatrice who has moved on to a position within the Department of Justice. We wish her all the best. As a result, we would like to give a big welcome to Adora who will be joining us in the Office officially from the start of next year. A few of you may have seen or spoken to her over the past two weeks as she has been helping us out since Beatrice's departure. If you are walking past the Office, make sure you wave and say Hi!

Are you intending to change schools next year?
It's sad to see any of our amazing students leave us but we understand that family circumstances change. If you are leaving us at the end of this year but have not yet informed us, can you please do so ASAP by emailing dohertys.creek.p9.co@education.vic.gov.au . We will need to know the school that your child is moving to as this will assist us in supporting you with the transition to your child's new school.
