Visual Art @ COHR

This week the 5/6 students looked at the art of popular Australian artist Pete Cromer.

We talked about why his art is so popular and discussed how we could create a similar look in our artwork. The students first mixed their own paint colours to create some brightly coloured paper. They focused first on creating an analogous colour palette for the body of their bird and then mixed some bright contrasting colours.

Students then looked carefully at the organic and geometric shapes in Cromer’s designs before cutting and layering various pieces of their painted paper to create their own bird designs.

What a great outcome!
