Term 2 is a good time for Students to engage with, and research, many of the tertiary providers, and explore the programs they offer, for those who wish to study further after completing their secondary schooling. This research also assists with choices for subject selection.
The attached newsletter focusses on these types of events. Please take a look for both campus and online activities, that are taking place over May, June and July.
Term 2 is also an ideal time to have an informal career discussion with your son or daughter. Our students in Industry and Enterprise, have recently completed a project “What’s your Story”, where they interviewed a family member to learn about their Career Journey; consisting of pathways, lessons learned, responsibilities and self-discovery in the world of work. This assisted our students in realising important information about career discovery and development.
Children learn a lot from their Parents, so sharing your stories and observations from your own experiences at work, might begin to influence their expectations of what their own future workplace might be like.
The CEAV (Career Education Association of Victoria) offers a Parent’s Guide to Career Planning with your Child.
