NAPLAN testing helps us identify trends on overall student progress and is a very important source of information for diagnostic purposes. NAPLAN testing will take place in Week 3 (from Tuesday 10 May) for our Year 3, 5, 7 & 9 students and will run until Friday 20 May.
There are many different views on the NAPLAN testing, however the data is extremely helpful for our staff. Tests can teach resilience and it can teach students that even though they might feel nervous and uncomfortable, that feeling will pass. Hopefully it teaches some students about perspective, about the importance of being prepared and when they work hard it generally pays off.
The NAPLAN does not measure a students smile, their manners, their values or their worth. It does not measure how they make others feel, their sporting, singing, or acting or many other talents that our students have. God has created all students with different gifts, so please keep that in mind when reviewing their results.
