Compass Pay
It is with great excitement that we can now plan and run a greater selection of camps and excursions as our COVID restrictions ease. These learning opportunities greatly enhance students’ educational experiences.
Most of these camp and excursion arrangements will be communicated via Compass. Parents are encouraged to regularly log in and take note of alert messages.
The Events function within Compass will allow parents to Consent and Pay for an Event on-line and paperless.
In case you weren’t sure - camps, excursions and activities are called “Events” in the Compass system.
There are many advantages for parents when using this Compass module including:
- Parents are alerted of new events as soon as they are posted in Compass– no more lost notes in the bottom of school bags
- The Events Page provides all the required information for each event, for each student
- Medical and emergency information can be updated easily
- Permission is done with a simple click of a button
- Payments are done at the same time, using most credit cards
- An email confirmation of payment will be sent
- A history of events is available to view - a great checking tool for past and future events
- Events requiring your action are highlighted as a reminder
Sometimes we may offer optional events, on a first come first served basis. These will be called Opt-In Event Invitations. An alert will show on the Parent dashboard. Following the prompts, you may choose to accept or decline the event invitation. Once the permission and payment have been processed your child will show as “Attending”.
From the BHS perspective, teaching staff can easily and efficiently access your permissions, lists of attendees, follow up outstanding items, see the medical and emergency information etc.
Office staff will be responsible for processing the banking file containing each day’s payments. The time between a parent making a payment and BHS receiving the funds is generally 4 working days, so please be mindful of this when deadlines are approaching.
Compass Pay payments are safe and secure. Compass does not store full credit card details nor CVV numbers. Basic details are stored for auditing and verification only. Transactions are processed over SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) and passed to the bank. Compass and its banking partners all subscribe to PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard Council) Tier 1 rules.
