SAKG

There is lots of news from the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program! 

Alice has moved on to a new position, we wish her well for the future.  We are very excited to welcome Nicki Whitfield to our school as our new kitchen specialist.  Grade 3 and 4 students are excited to be working in the SAKG program beginning this term.

Thank you to Pet Stock Vermont South for the kind and generous donation of pellet food for our chickens.

Last term, Grade 5/6 conducted an experiment to determine the most effective way to remove weeds from the garden.  We covered;

• 1 section with pieces of wood
• 1 section was weeded by hand
• 1 section was sprayed with organic weed killer spray
• 1 section had boiling water poured over

Which do you think was most effective a week later? 

It was the boiling water!
