What is happening in the Art Room....

Welcome to the Art Room in Term 2. This term our art work will be centered around the integrated topic of Change.

The Foundation students have been looking at the changing leaves on the deciduous trees on our school grounds and are using their observations to create an Autumn art work using paint, rubbing blocks and tissue paper.

The change in season and weather has been a topic for Grade 1 and 2 artwork as students experimented with wax crayons and food dyes.  Students learned how to separate sky from ground by creating a horizon in their landscape.

The Grade 3 and 4 students have combined creative line drawing and using oil or dry pastels to make colourful autumn leaves. The students explored blending pastels to create different hues or effects.

The Grade 5 and 6 students are finishing their community statue project this week. I am very proud of the various skills the students gained and the flexibility and persistence they demonstrated throughout the project.
