Junior School Athletics Carnival

A sea of blue, red and purple was seen at Brauerander Park on Thursday 17th March for the first Junior School Interhouse Athletics Carnival. Students had spent weeks preparing for the events and couldn't wait to display their skills on the track and field. Thank you to all the parent helpers and Year 9 students for volunteering your time. The day would not have been possible without your help.

 

For each event, students are awarded points which determine the age group champion. Congratulations to the following students on winning their age group:

  • 1st - Calvin (1670 pts)
  • 2nd - Luther (1271 pts)
  • 3rd - Knox (1241 pts)

DAMSAWK Athletics

Tuesday 22nd March was an exciting day for 31 students who represented our College at the DAMSAWK Athletics at Brauerander Park. It was a great opportunity to cheer each other on in a range of events and the excitement couldn't be contained after witnessing the 9/10 years boys and 11 years girls win the 4x100m relay.

 

Here are some achievements from the day:

  • Xavier - 1st in the 100m, 200m, 4x100m relay and 3rd in Triple Jump.
  • Tommie - 1st in the Long Jump, 100m, 2nd in Triple Jump and 3rd in the 200m.
  • Gracie - 1st in the 4x100m relay and 3rd in Triple Jump.
  • Kathy- 1st in the 4x100m relay.
  • Lottie - 1st in the High Jump.
  • Sienna - 2nd in High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump and 3rd in the 800m.
  • Tyler - 1st in the 4x100m relay.
  • Jack - 3rd in Shot Put.
  • Phillip - 1st in Triple Jump, Long Jump and the 4x100m relay.
  • Tilly - 1st in the 4x100m relay, 1500m and 2nd in the 800m.
  • Amelie - 2nd in the 1500m, Triple Jump and 3rd in Long Jump and High Jump.
  • Ryan - 3rd in Discus.
  • Lil - 1st in the 4x100m relay.

Congratulations to all 31 students for demonstrating great sportsmanship, determination and courage.

GWR Swimming Championship

On Friday March 18th, Josh, Nellie, Anneliese and Zara represented King's College at the Greater Western Region Swimming Championship in Horsham. Josh won his two events, the 50m Butterfly and 50m Breaststroke and will now compete at state Level. It should be noted that Lottie also qualified to compete at this event, but was unfortunately unable to attend. Congratulations to all of these students.
