Wellbeing Week & Harmony Day

Monday 28 March to Friday 1 April

In Week 9 (from Monday 28 March to Friday 1 April), we celebrated Wellbeing Week. Our theme this year: Finding your Brave, which focused on the development of confidence and self-esteem in our students. Being brave can be about sharing worries and asking for help, trying something new, or pushing yourself outside your comfort zone. We held a week of activities to raise awareness and facilitate growth in our students’ well-being.

On Friday 1 April the focus was on physical well-being, the Primary school students in Prep to Grade 3 celebrated their bodies by being physical. They played a variety of games and also enjoyed the playground. Please see the pictures below.

Harmony Day

As part of this Wellbeing Week, on Tuesday 29 March HCC celebrated Harmony Day. We are so proud of our cultural diversity and aim to encourage values and provide new ways to learn at school.  It was a very eventful day that students were able to enjoy.

We had a special assembly in the morning. The students who dressed up in their traditional clothes looked brilliant. At recess, Mrs Gover and her Year 8s held a bake sale in the Salt Cafe. It was a huge hit - as always! All proceeds made from the bake sale ($467) and the gold coin donation ($ 305.95) were donated to Scovia, our sponsor child from Uganda (a total of $772.95). At lunchtime, the VCAL students held a sausage sizzle. They raised $72 for their special project.

Thank you to everyone involved, who made the day extremely special.
