Foundation Day

On Tuesday March 22, we celebrated our 136th Birthday!

On this day we remember the four Brigidine Sisters who bravely embarked on a journey across the seas from Ireland to establish our school in this local community and all the people who have gone before us to make our College the great place that it is today.

Here is a recount of the day's celebrations by one of our students.

A didgeridoo marked the beginning of the 2022 Foundation Day Mass. As the students listened to the instrument of the traditional custodians of the land, they were listening not just to the person playing, but also all those who preceded him.

A speech from both the Principal and House Captains had students reflecting on the impressive history of their school, and when the anthem of the College played, they stood and sung with enthusiasm.

A reenactment of the good samaritan by the Year 9 Drama class added an additional element of fun entertainment, but also allowed them to gain a better understanding of its meaning. “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord".

After the Mass, the students were treated to a special lunch in their House groups in order to celebrate the occasion. Food that otherwise wouldn’t be available was given and raised spirits even higher than before. From silent reverence to joyful activities, students cannot wait for the next Foundation day!
