Introducing our new Wellbeing Platform - Wellbeing For Learning Tool

We are excited to announce that we have a new Wellbeing check-in system for students.

On Monday 28 March, during Learning Mentor time, students will be undertaking the baseline survey with the PIVOT Wellbeing Tool, and then each Thursday in LM, students will undertake a one minute check-in that helps identify any concerns, enables students to reflect on their own wellbeing, strategies and help seeking behaviour, and provides recommendations and resources.

The Wellbeing for Learning Tool is consistent with the Australian Student Wellbeing Framework and enables us all to support the wellbeing, learning, growth and achievement of our students.

Wellbeing Focus this week

Our Wellbeing focus this week is on Diet and Nutrition. It is important for us to understand the significant role this plays in our health and wellbeing. The following article has some excellent information: https://raisingchildren.net.au/teens/healthy-lifestyle/daily-food-guides/nutrition-healthy-food-teens

There are also additional resources available on School TV. Students have completed a brief Google Survey in Learning Mentor time this week to enable them to reflect on their eating habits and patterns, and also provide data on this.

SchoolTV

Each newsletter, we will continue to showcase and highlight SchoolTV resources. We encourage you to access these regularly as there is an extensive range of resources, advice and support available on a variety of subjects pertinent to raising, caring for, supporting and educating adolescents.

Last newsletter we focused on vaping. This week we recommend the SchoolTV information and resources on:

Physical Activity and Exercise

“Research shows regular physical activity and exercise leads to changes in the brain. It improves cognitive function, elevates mood, improves learning and reduces ‘stress chemicals’ like cortisol.”
