Instrumental Program

St Joseph’s College will be offering a range of private instrumental lessons for interested students, beginning in Term 2. 

 

This offer initially, will be for year 7 and 8 students only.

 

Lessons offered will consist of:

  • A 30 minute one-on-one session with an experienced and qualified instrumental teacher.
  • Students being withdrawn from normal classes each week for a lesson.
  • Cost of lessons will be invoiced at the current standard rate for instrumental lessons.

Below are the instruments that will be offered for Term 2. 

Saxophone

Guitar

Flute

Bass

Clarinet

Drums

Piano

 

 

The Music Department will continue to work at extending this list based on availability of qualified instrumental teachers.

 

Provision of instruments

 

Students will be required to provide their own instruments. 

 

Questions regarding instrument rental or rent-to-buy can be directed to the Music Department.

 

The Program

 

Students are expected to attend all lessons, practise at home during the week and participate as arranged in ensembles, as part of the learning process. The College will continue to facilitate ongoing opportunities in performance. There may also be opportunities for AMEB examinations in both instrumental and written exams.
