Ride2School Day

It was great to see some many students riding, scooting or walking to school on National Ride2School Day (Friday 25th March).

National Ride2School Day is Australia’s biggest celebration of active travel. It is a day where students, teachers and parents discover the joy of riding and kick-start healthy habits for the future.

Just under 85% of all students actively travelled to school at least part of the way. Well done in particular to Grade 3/4 Green who had an amazing 95% active travellers. Special mention to Grade 3/4 Daenke (93%) and 5/6 Lidgett (90%) who also had an amazing participation rate.

Lunchtime Newcombe Tournament

Our lunchtime Newcombe Tournament has come to a thrilling conclusion with Team 5 winning the Grand Final over Team 4 in ‘golden point’ overtime. Both teams were locked at 23 points apiece when the final whistle sounded. Team 5 then went on to score the first point in overtime. The game was played in fantastic spirit with players from both sides displaying great skill and teamwork.

I would like to congratulate all students involved in this competition throughout the term for their wonderful sportsmanship and commitment. I would particularly like to thank the students who umpired and scored games when their team wasn’t playing.
