Respectful Relationships

To complete our unit on Emotional Literacy we demonstrated our ability to identify positive and negative emotions. We created lists of positive and negative emotions of varying intensity. We then created lists of positive and negative behaviours. Connecting the behaviours to the emotions was difficult but we all had a go. We found it particular challenging to recognise the varying intensities of emotions and the variety of behaviours that they might be connected to.

Crazy Hair Day

We celebrated Crazy Hair Day today and it was wonderful to see so many students get into the spirit of the day and support this brilliant cause. Congratulations to Cai, Remy, Jacqui and Mr Lidgett to driving this initiative and putting themselves forward to donate their hair to such great causes. We assembled together in the Hub this morning to watch each person's lovely locks get chopped off.

Cai raised $3200 for Variety - 'Hair for a Heart' and Remy raised over $800 for the Cancer Council. An incredible effort!

Remy's BIG Cut

Remy is trying a new hairdo to fundraise for Cancer Council Victoria's life-saving research, prevention & support services.

Today she cut off her hair and donated it towards the making of wigs for those suffering this terrible disease and others. Remy has been growing her hair for the last couple of years for this very reason.

Its not too late to make a donation:

Easter Hat Parade

We are all looking forward to this special day tomorrow. It should be a great way to end a busy and productive term. Community members are welcome to join us in the Hub tomorrow from 9am for the Easter Hat Parade!

Captain’s Corner!

Welcome to the Term 1 Captain’s Corner Report for 2022.

We have had a busy term so we have a tonne of information!!

Swimming – The year started off with the Swimming Sports event. Swimming Sports is a day when students from Grades 3-6 participate in swimming races. Many students won ribbons and some even made it into districts. It was a really fun day for everyone.

Harmony Day – Harmony Day is a fun day where students from Prep to Grade 6 go around to different classrooms in groups. Everyone enjoyed learning about different cultures and how different families have different backgrounds and customs.

Bat Tennis – The SRC organised Bat Tennis to be played in the Hub in Weeks 4 and 8. Everyone in the school was welcome to come along and play. Thanks to the SRC for making this possible. It was a really fun time in the Hub.

Newcombe – Newcombe is a sport similar to volleyball and netball. Grades 5 and 6 and even some Grade 4s came along to play! The tournament is still being held on the basketball court at lunch time and everyone is welcome to come and watch.

National Ride to School Day – Ride to School Day is held all over Australia. Many kids came to school on their bike, scooter and even skateboards. There were SOOO many bikes and other equipment, that we used the oval to store all of them.

Thanks for reading our first Captain’s Corner Report for 2022.

Signed,

Frankie and Cai
