Month of Mary

Month is traditionally the month of Mary, and a time when we take time out to reflect on the very significant role Mary plays in the life of the Catholic community. The Christian tradition honours Mary, the mother of Jesus, and we acknowledge the many qualities of motherhood that Mary showed to people on a daily basis. We know that she was a loving and caring mother to Jesus, a faithful and loving wife to Joseph, and a woman of action on behalf of the many people she encountered who needed practical help and support. Mary was a woman of faith whose strength came from her relationship with God and her ability to listen deeply to what God was asking of her.

In this Month we celebrate Mother's Day, let us thank God for our mothers and those who have played the role of mother in our lives. May all mothers know God’s deep and abiding love for them. Mary, our Mother, pray for us!

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.
