~ Do all that you do with love ~

Dear Parents and Friends of St Therese's Primary School,

What a wonderful term it has been at St Therese's School. I am very proud of the way our students have worked with their teachers and friends to be successful learners. We have accomplished a lot over the last eleven weeks.

Here is a recap of the term...

We moved into our new Junior Learning Neighborhood! The students have enjoyed learning in the new spaces and the teachers have done a great job making the rooms look inviting.

With St Peter's College's VCAL and the Parks and Gardens students, we created a new Kitchen/Garden that our Year 3 and 4 students helped to design. This project was funded by the Local Schools Community Fund. The new garden will be used by Mrs Perrins in her Sustainability lessons and the produce grown will be used in the new student kitchen.

The Year Six students applied for leadership positions and we now have four excellent leadership teams. Communication team, Minni Vinnie team, Sustainability team and the House Leader team.

We were finally able to hold a community event on the school grounds and enjoyed a family picnic on the oval.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation was celebrated at St Agatha's Parish and we look forward to many of the students making the Sacrament of First Eucharist and the Sacrament of Confirmation.

The Community Hub began! Mrs Lloyd has finally been able to have community members enter the Hub and our Playgroup, Adult English and Computer classes and Coffee and Chat is going really well. These activities are all free and members of the local community community are invited to join in.

This week, I am currently at a Principal Conference in Traralgon. All Principals in the Sale Diocese are with me and we are participating in some professional learning about educational leadership with guest speaker Tracey Ezard. I will be back at St Therese's on Thursday for the students' last day of Term 1 and will join them as they act out the events of Holy Week before the afternoon's assembly where the Easter Raffle will be drawn.

A reminder that Friday, April 8 and Tuesday, April 26 are School Closure Days and students will resume Term 2 on Wednesday, April 27.

The position of Principal at St Therese's is currently being advertised. Interviews should take place early in Term 2. While the appointment process is going on I will remain at St Therese's and will not leave until the new Principal is in place. I intend to stay at St Therese's school until at least Week 5 of Term 2. I will keep you updated on the process and as soon as I know who the new Principal will be, I will let you know. The new Principal is determined by a panel of people led by the Sale Diocese. We continue to pray that they are guided by the Holy Spirit in their decision making.

Please enjoy the holidays with your families and I look forward to welcoming you back to St Therese's in Term 2.

Best wishes
