Principal Post

Dear Families,

We come to the end of a busy but truly productive Term 1. Hasn't it been fantastic  that we have had a full term back at school!!  It has been wonderful to have our students finally back into the school classrooms and  playgrounds, learning and socialising with  friends and teachers. We continue to follow the COVID safe protocols very carefully and as a result, some students and staff have been absent due to being COVID positive or having been identified as close contacts.

I congratulate all our students on their efforts across this first term. They have approached their learning so positively, have re-learnt routines and have mixed very well with their peers.

I am sure that as we approach the end of term, the students are becoming a little more tired. The Swimming program  whilst overwhelmingly positive,  has certainly added a level of tiredness.  I am sure that we are all looking forward to having a restful and enjoyable Easter break.

I particularly congratulate our Prep students as they complete their first term of school life. What a great start to their formal schooling!! Well done also to those students in Years 1-6 who began at SJV at the start of the year.  We hope that you have found some good friends and are enjoying your learning activities.

I also say a big thank you to our staff. They love working at SJV and have done a brilliant job across a busy term.  As well as being great teachers and staff members , they connect and care incredibly for your children.

Finally can I thank all parents and carers for the ongoing support of your children, staff and school.  Despite COVID restrictions being eased, there continues to be a number of challenges. Your willingness to trust, to get on board , to go with the flow and work in the interests of all, truly shows what a wonderful community we have here at SJV. I feel very privileged and honoured to be the Principal of our great school.

End Of Term 1 Finishing Time

Holy Week Liturgy

Yesterday the students and staff gathered in the Church to remember and reflect upon  the Holy Week story.  It was beautifully done and I thank our seniors for leading the way. This was the first time the whole school had gathered in the church since 2020! You can read more in the RE News.

Next term we hope to be able to return to Friday morning Masses hosted by a particular class.

There are many items  - towels, bathers, goggles, underwear that are still to be claimed from the Swimming Program. Students and parents  are asked  to check if have missing  items.
