TERM 2 EVENTS

 

SSV Soccer Lightning Premiership - Friday 29th April

This Friday, we have two teams heading off to represent our school at the Holt District Soccer Lightning Premiership. The event is held at Caulfield Park (Balaclava Road) and parents are welcome to attend.

 

PSG Meetings - Monday 2nd May - Wednesday 4th May

Program Support Group Meetings will be held next week. Louisa Di Pietro has contacted families directly about appointments for these meetings.

 

Prep Resilience Night - Tuesday 3rd May

We will be hosting an information night on Resilience for our Prep families and any families new to our school. The night will be facilitated by Student Wellbeing expert Georgina Manning, with a focus on how parents can help children to be resilient young people. It is essential that at least one parent from each family attend, but it would be even better if both parents could be present.

 

Cross Country Training

There are two Cross Country training sessions remaining - Tuesday 3rd May and Tuesday 10th of May. There has been very strong attendance at these sessions so far. The children need to have attended at least three training sessions to be eligible for the team.

 

Mother’s Day Breakfast and Liturgy - Thursday 5th May

As outlined above, the Mother’s Day Breakfast and Liturgy will take place on Thursday 5th May. All mothers and special friends are invited and encourage to attend both celebrations.

 

Year 5/6 Winter Sport to Commence - Friday 6th May

On Friday afternoons during Term Two, our Year 5/6 students will play either Football or Netball against other schools from our local area. This will commence on Friday 6th May and all students require a numbered Sports Top, which is available from uniform supplier Noone. The focus of this is on participation and sportsmanship. The children can play either football or netball.

 

Year 3 & 5 NAPLAN - Tuesday 10th May to Thursday 12th May

Year 3 and 5 students will complete NAPLAN Online from Tuesday 10th May to Thursday 12th May. All students are expected to completed NAPLAN and the tests take place on the following days:

  • Writing - Tuesday 10th May
  • Reading - Wednesday 11th May
  • Conventions of Language - Wednesday 11th May
  • Numeracy - Thursday 12th May

P&F Meeting - Tuesday 10th May

The Parents and Friends Committee will meet for the first time in Term Two at school on Tuesday 10th May at 7.30pm. All parents are welcome to attend.

 

Mum’s Night Out - Friday 13th May

The Mum’s Night Out will be at F8 in Highett Road on Friday 13th May. Tickets are available for purchase through Try Booking on the P&F Page of this newsletter.

 

SSV Cross Country - Friday 13th May

Our Cross Country team will compete against other local schools at the Holt District Cross Country on Friday 13th May. The event is held at Bald Hill Park in Clarinda and parents are welcome to come along to support.

 

SAC Meetings

The School Advisory Council will meet on two occasions this term - Tuesday 17th May and Tuesday 14th June. These meetings are held at school and commence at 7.30pm.

 

Open Day - Wednesday 18th May

Our fourth and final Open Day for the year will be held on Wednesday 18th May. Prospective families are welcome to come along any time between 9am and 3pm on the day.

 

Prep Prayers in Pyjamas Night - Wednesday 18th May at 7pm

We are excited to host our first Prep Prayers in Pyjamas night for a number of years. The children are asked to come along to school with mum and/or dad, dressed in their PJs to learn as a family about prayer.

 

Sovereign Hill Excursion - Year 5/6 - Thursday 19th May

Our Year 5/6 students will be heading to Sovereign Hill in Ballarat for an excursion related to their History unit of work. This will be an early start, with the bus departing at about 7.45am and a late arrival back at school around 4pm.

 

Year 1/2 Family Faith Night - Wednesday 1st June at 7pm

Our Year 1/2 children and parents are asked to come along to our Family Faith Night, where we will talk and learn about storytelling in RE. More information to follow.

 

St Agnes’ Biggest Morning Tea - Friday 3rd June

The Annual St Agnes’ Biggest Morning Tea will help on Friday 3rd June. Parents are invited to come along to school to join us for a community morning tea. There will be a raffle and other activities, with all funds raised going to the Cancer Council.

 

Cybersafety Night - Tuesday 7th June

The School will host a Cybersafety evening for all families from Year 3-6 on Tuesday 7th June. This is a compulsory event for all children and parents from Year 3-6. There will be a separate parent and student workshops, before we come together to talk about important issues related to online safety.

 

SSV Netball and Football Lightning Premierships

Wednesday 8th June & Thursday 9th June

The school will have representative teams head to the Holt District Football and Netball Lightning Premiership competitions on Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th June. The school will select our best teams for these competitions.

 

Queen's Birthday Public Holiday - Monday 13th June

Our school will be closed for the Queen's Birthday Public Holiday on Monday 13th June.

 

Dental Heath Van Visit - Commencing Tuesday 14th June

The Dental Health Van will visit our school on Tuesday 14th June. Information was sent home about this at the end of last term. Please contact our Wellbeing Leader, Anthea Georgiou if you have any further queries.

 

P&F Disco - Friday 17th June

The Disco will be held at school on Friday 17th June in the school hall. There is a Junior and Senior Disco and it is very fun night for the children!

 

End of Semester Reports - Friday 17th June

End of Semester Reports will be sent home on Friday 17th June. A hard copy will be sent home and an electronic copy will be available via the nForma Parent Portal.

 

Parent/Teacher Exchanges - Tuesday 21st June

As part of the end of semester assessment and reporting process, Parent/Teacher Exchanges provide the opportunity to discuss your child’s report. Booking information will follow and we expect the meetings will be face-to-face at school.

 

Shine the Light Social Justice Day - Friday 24th June

We finish Term Two with a focus on social justice on Shine the Light Social Justice Day. More information will be communicated later in the term.
