Literacy

This week the students were introduced to Andy Ant who is the 'a' character in InitiaLit. Kindergarten are enjoying their group work in literacy where they have been engaging in a range of phonics based, fine motor, drawing and letter formation activities. The children have now been introduced to their first four sounds within the program- m,s,t and a. 

Mathematics

For the past two weeks kindergarten have been learning about 2D shapes. They have participated in a range of hands on activities and now have a good understanding of squares, triangles, circles, rectangles, ovals and diamonds. 

Religion

Over the past few weeks Kindergarten have been talking about the meaning of Lent and remembering that it is a time to get ready for Easter. The children have been learning the story of the "Good Shepherd" and they are reminded that God is like their  Shepherd who looks after them and loves them unconditionally.
