House Swimming Carnival - Friday 22 February

On Friday 22  February a record number of Koonung students packed into Boroondara Sports Complex for the annual Swimming Carnival. The weather gods were on our side offering a beaut 25 degrees with not a cloud in sight. The day started off with the very popular costume competition, where we had a huge amount of entrants with such creative and wonderful costumes it was almost too difficult to choose the winners. The day was gone in a flash with a number of students swimming in the main races as well as taking part in the fun novelty events across the venue. Thank you to our musical cast members who offered delicious cakes and musical melodies throughout the day. The Year 11 versus Year 12 volleyball match was a big hit and came down to a nail biting finish with the Year 11s just getting over the line. Unfortunately, it was not all good news for the students with the teachers absolutely smashing the students in the relay race. Congratulations to Mr  Hasseldine, Mr  Hindle, Mr  Oaten and Mr  Anderson.

Thank you to the student leaders and all staff for their contributions throughout the day. Congratulations to all age group champions (below) and to Conder on taking out the title. Good luck to all the students who made it through to the Division Swimming which will be held March 7 at Aquanation in Ringwood.   See you all next year!
