5 Cent Challenge
What better way to get rid of your 5 cent pieces than to give them to a good cause? During Wellbeing Week from Monday 9 October to Friday 13 October the Library will be coordinating the collection of 5 cent pieces to raise money for two organisations that are all about supporting the well-being of children and adults. All the coins collected will be donated to Kids Help Line and Beyond Blue. To participate, all you have to do is collect as many 5 cent pieces as you can and hand them to your Homeroom teacher, or bring them into the Library and add them to our challenge jar. From little things big things grow. Any donation amount is welcome.

Family Science Night
The 2017 Family Science Night will be held in Common Room 1 on Wednesday 25 October from 6.00pm – 7.30pm. The theme for the night is “Future Earth” with a focus on how our actions today can make a better tomorrow. Activities include making worm farms and terrariums and exploring an underwater world to find out how we can help save Nemo and the Great Barrier Reef. There are prizes to be won in the recycling game and the use water wisely activity. There will be a stall showing how robotics are being used in farming and students will be able to code robots that could be used to combat fires and remove pests such as the Crown-of-thorns from the Great Barrier Reef. They will also be able to contribute to the revegetation of Aitken College by planting seeds of the much needed Wallaby grass. It will be an action packed night with activities for all the family – so come along and join in the fun.
