Year 12 Graduation
We ended Term 3 with a wonderful Year 12 Graduation. It was a great pleasure to recognise the completion of 13 years of schooling of these students. The HSC program of study is rigorous and requires considerable effort and commitment so it is appropriate that we acknowledge our graduating Year 12 students. I do congratulate all of them on making it to the end. For some it was particularly momentous, having overcome some periods of adversity. The Bible tells us to “not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9. It is a great credit to each student for persevering to their final day.
The spontaneous dance at the end of the ceremony was much fun and well received. We wish Year 12 success for their upcoming HSC examinations some of which are of three hours duration. Beyond that, we wish them well with their post-school plans whether that be tertiary study or the workforce. Whatever their results, we hope that our students know that true success is not about getting top marks. There is life after the HSC. Things that matter in life are relationships and our Christian faith is based on this, our relationship with God the Father and with each other. The Bible tells us to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind” and “love your neighbour as yourself.” Luke 10:27. When we respect others and show them love and compassion, we are doing what God wants us to do. Lives are made richer as a result.
