Where have you lived?

What is it like being on staff at TCC?
It’s always an experience to sit back and look at all the different giftings, personalities and levels of creativity amongst all the staff at Taree Christian College. I learn so much from everyone. It’s also a positive experience working with a Christian staff as I see compassion, caring, wisdom, strength and joy.
What does your role involve?
I oversee learning support from Kindergarten to Year 12 which involves coordinating support timetables for eight support staff, overseeing 'The HUB' which is for secondary students, writing individual programs for needy students, liaising with parents, teachers and external support agencies and simply ensuring that students are looked after in their areas of need. I have had to learn about many diagnoses over the years…a challenge.
What are you looking forward to at TCC?
Apart from the weekly staff morning teas, my dearest wish is to create a sensory gym for students who really need it.
How do you like spending your spare time?
I LOVE being a Grandma. I do enjoy gardening, playing piano, scrapbooking at times, feeding lots of native birds twice a day, doing word puzzles, and walking around Diamond Beach village and along the beach. Sadly, I don’t get much time to do any of those things very often for various reasons. I also love to travel as we live in a great big wonderful world full of diversity and wonders and if I don’t travel now I’ll be too old! My other spare time activity is housework and grocery shopping. How exciting! I would love to write children’s literature in the future.
