Principal’s Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Last week I had the opportunity to meet with our new Kinder transition families to talk about our wonderful school. We have a strong enrolment of eight lovely little people for our Transition group this year which commenced on Friday. Transition is led by Mrs Rees and Miss Mooney and offers our 2022 Kindergarten class with the opportunity to get into school routines and participate in important early literacy and numeracy developmental programs. This gives our 2022 Kinder class the very best start to their schooling next year.

If you know of anyone who has a child starting school next year, please encourage them to contact the office for more details on this year's Transition program.

Last week, the school Leadership Team travelled to Moree to present our 2021 School Improvement Plan to the Catholic Schools Office staff and other schools in our diocese. As discussed at the Parent Information Session, our academic goal for 2021 is improving reading outcomes for students with a focus on comprehension. Our staff are already working towards this goal in our classroom practice and through our professional development programs.

The well-being goal for our school calls for us to ensure that every member of our school community is learning, safe and respected. Our student body has already provided us with some great ideas of how that looks for them, and now we would love to hear your thoughts in this area. We will be using this information to revise our Mission and Vision Statements, and develop of the "Goals for Living and Learning Well at Sacred Heart" document. All parents will be sent a link through Compass to complete a short survey. You can also access the survey through this link. Your feedback will be very valuable and guide our next steps for improvement in the well-being of our school.

WE ARE RESPECTED
WE ARE SAFE

On Friday we received notification that the COVID-19 guidelines were changing in regards to COVID-19. This is great news! You will find a summary of these changes in this newsletter.

I hope you have a great week!
