Technology and STEM

@ St Louis

Thank you to the parents and carers who were able to attend Thursday's Parents/Carers as Partners session with Thomson and Michael. There were lots of great discussions shared about our introduction of Chromebooks into our year 4 cohort.

If you were unable to attend, please check out the video below and feel free to email Thomson on twood@stlouisaspendale.com if you have any additional questions.

You can also find the presentation we shared linked below.

On the last slide is the link to the family filtering system that could be used at home. This is one of a number of different programs families can invest in to monitor and control their home connections. Our new IT Technician, Michael, uses this service himself so if you have any questions, let us know and we'll run them past him.

As part of our STEM learning next week, year 5 and 6 students will be beginning to explore goals that have been set to help make the world more sustainable (SDGs).

Part of the design process they will work through will include the design and creation of an app. In order for them to be able to do this, we ask that all year 5 and 6 students have access to the Marvel Pop app that you can find here

This app is a prototyping app that can be used to plan out a range of online tools. It is on the existing app list but we are aware some devices might not have it on there.

Thanks everyone.
