The STEM Pillar

Engineering in 2MC

On Friday the 5th of March, our STEM Society Pillar came to 2MC. When they came, the STEM Society Pillar taught the grade 2 class about engineering and how to make shapes out of straws. They set up in the middle of the gallery and split up into four groups. David and Ollie’s group decided to build a tall structure to teach the kids about balance.

We asked some of the children about what they liked about this activity most. We chose one person from each group to ask.

“I like that we get to play with some of the grade 6s” - Heidi

“I like how you get to play with the little things” - Ava

“I like building the towers because it’s like playing with lego” - Yixing

“I enjoy working as a team” - Laani
