Year 10 Work Experience

Our Year 10 students completed Work Experience at the end of last term. The students were in a range of different locations and enjoyed being able to be part of a workplace and to see first-hand what their chosen career involved. We are very appreciative of the support that our employers provided and the effort they went to in ensuring our student had a productive week. They gave some wonderful feedback on the professionalism and attitude of our students. Our students were placed in a range of careers including:

  • Veterinary
  • Dentistry
  • Physiotherapy
  • Interior Design
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Medical Research
  • Child Care
  • Education
  • Retail
  • Photography
  • Law

Student feedback on work experience

"For my work experience placement, I went to Graphink Design, a business that helps others with their marketing and visual design, based in Sandringham. Over the course of the week, I learnt about website development, photography and social media advertising. On Wednesday, I made a website for a cooling and heating company and learnt what is effective on a website and the different elements that go on it.

On Thursday, I went to a photoshoot at a restaurant where they were taking photos of new dishes for their menu. For most of the day, I was in charge of lighting, and I also got to take a few pictures of my own. On Friday, I was looking at social media advertisements and the editing of photos from a previous photoshoot. I got to design an Instagram post for a business and learnt the process of the design stage and I also learnt how they use different platforms to edit photos from a photoshoot."

Future Insights Event 3

Our next presentation will be held on Tuesday 15 August from 3.30-5pm in the IRC. It will include a range of speakers from different careers. Students that attended our last presentation found it to be extremely helpful in learning about different careers. Parents are also welcome. A link will be provided in Shelly news to book for this event in coming weeks.
