Year 1 News

Term 3 in Year 1 has had a super busy start! We have been at school for over 100 days and had a celebration to mark the occasion in Week 2. The children engaged in many activities, including making zero shaped pizzas, threading zero shaped necklaces and bracelets, counting in 10’s & 5’s up to 100, making Zero’s favourite treat with 100s & 1000’s as well as lots of number puzzles! It was a great day in Year 1, especially with so many parents coming in to help us!

We spent 2 weeks learning how to be more responsible and independent whilst we took part in our annual swimming lessons at Riverton Swimming Pools. We had to get ready, walk to the bus, board the bus, and put on our seatbelts. Then when we arrived at the pool, we had to remember our teacher’s group number and sit next to the numbered cone that matched to wait for them. All of us have learned lots of important swimming skills and have definitely become more confident around water.

We can’t wait to see what else we get up to in Term 3!
