Mr Trent Chapman
Year 12 students are grappling with the joys and challenges of their last term at school. The excitement of the upcoming Graduation activities and life beyond Kinross Wolaroi is possibly tempered by the immediate stressors of the trial examinations and the HSC examinations. Last term’s study camp has set the students up for a positive and purposeful academic trajectory, and our Wellbeing program will continue to support them as they navigate the term.
Year 11 students are beginning to consider the responsibilities of their final year by both applying for leadership positions and choosing their Year 12 jersey. The leadership process is well under way, and I look forward to updating you further as it unfolds.
Congratulations to the Year 11 jersey committee for creating two designs for the students to vote upon. The committee was made up of a representative from each Wellbeing house, and they have collaborated over the holidays to provide a distinct choice for students. We will be celebrating our Indigenous students with a design of their creation to be incorporated into the numbers on the back of the jersey. Please can I remind all students that the jersey is a privilege and not a right – it is not a formal part of our school uniform but rather an artefact of seniority. Mrs McCalman will post further details on the Hub shortly.
A reminder to Year 11 students that leadership application information has been posted on the Hub and applications are due Thursday 27 July.
A reminder to Senior Students who drive to school; students must have submitted signed driver permission forms and forms must be kept up to date with approved passengers. Driver permission forms can be collected at the reception office. The Student Car Park is a privilege for senior students; you are reminded to only park in designated areas. For safety and security students are reminded to use the same rules and considerations as required in public car spaces.
As the new mobile phone policy has been in place for 6 months, it is expected that students are fully aware of expectations. For the benefit of new students and families, details can be found on the school website:

A reminder that the security of equipment and personal items is the responsibility of students. Students in Year 7 have lockers in the Year 7 area. Year 7 lockers are locked by staff overnight, however students in Year 7 are encouraged to bring a padlock to lock their lockers during the school day. Students in Years 8-12 have lockers in their House areas and all students have been issued a padlock. All Items should be clearly labelled so that lost items can be returned to lost property. Students are to liaise with their Head Mentors if they have questions or concerns.
