International Friendship Day is celebrated on the 30th of July. This is a time to cherish the relationships you have with individuals who have been there for you through good times and bad. Like all relationships, friendships need love, care, and respect to grow and deepen the connection. Friendship Day is the ideal day to express your love and gratitude for your friends. To show your appreciation for your friendship and to make them feel special.
Last Friday, the St Fidelis school community, celebrated Grandparents' Mass. This special celebration was to give thanks to all our grandparents past and present. The children and their grandparents gathered in the church to reflect acknowledge and pray for their grandparents.
The day continued with the grandparents engaging in fun learning with their grandchildren.
We concluded with a beautiful morning tea provided by the parents and friends. We extend our thanks to all who participated in this special event.
Thank you to all the Year 6 families who participated in the online Confirmation workshop facilitated by Maria Forde. Throughout the evening Maria reflected on the importance of the Sacrament of Confirmation and how we can live as faith-filled people. As part of your child's preparation, we ask that you continue to dialogue about the various learning opportunities provided by the school and to share your faith understandings about the sacrament of Confirmation with your child.
Bishop Terry Curtin will be visiting our Year 5/6 children on Wednesday 2nd of August at 10:00 am. The purpose of this visit is for the bishop to meet the Confirmation candidates and discuss the Confirmation celebration.
This year, in preparation to support the Year 6 children in preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation, the children will have the opportunity to participate in a day of reflection with a focus on developing a deeper understanding of the Sacrament of Confirmation.
We extend the invitation to all Year 6 students to participate in this retreat. This will take place on Thursday the 3rd of August at St Fidelis Catholic Primary School. The day will begin at 10.00 am and conclude at 3.30 pm. A hot dog lunch will be provided on the day. The children can wear casual clothes.
On Tuesday the 8th of August as a school community, we will celebrate the Feast of Mary Mackillop. Mass begins at 9.15 am and we invite all parents, carers and grandparents to take part in this celebration.
A prayer service will take place on Friday 4th August at 9.15 am, to remember and pray for Edwina Moulin. Edwina was a teacher at St Fidelis and sadly passed away a few weeks ago. We invite all families that knew Edwina to be part of this prayer service.
Thank you and God Bless,
