Year 1/2

The week so far...

Students have settled into Term 3 really well and embraced the learning opportunities provided. We would like to thank the students and community for welcoming Mr Black and Mrs Craig as part of the 1/2 team. 

2D Shapes and 3D Objects

Students have been learning to identify, draw and describe properties of 2D shapes and 3D objects. They were excited to build these models with materials. 

Cyber Safety

Sergeant Cathy Hastie from Torquay Police Station visited our school to educate students about the importance of being safe online. Students were engaged by the topic and asked amazing questions throughout. 

Writing

The 1/2 team have been learning about different forms of poetry and how to plan and write a narrative. They have enjoyed creating their own characters and generating interesting problems in their stories.

Author Studies

Julia Donaldson, Oliver Jeffers, Roald Dahl and Aaron Blabey have all been focussed on through the Year 1/2 author studies. Students have been immersed in a variety of texts while being asked to think critically about the message presented by the author.
