What's been happening...

P-2

The Prep to 2 students have begun practising for the Prep- 2 Athletics day later in the year. The skills they are learning include short and long distance running, throwing, hurdles and long jump.

3-6

The 3-6 students have been learning about the skills involved in the games of softball/ baseball/ t-ball and developing an understanding of how the game is played. They are enjoying the team aspect of the game and playing something that is a little less often played.

Jump Rope for Heart

For the remainder of Term 3, all students in Prep-6 will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart during PE. Students will learn skills and practise a Jump Rope routine in preparation for our Jump Off Day on the 14th of September. On this day, students will perform their routine during the last session of the day and parents and our wider community are welcome to join us to see what the students have been working on. Students will also be fundraising for the Heart Foundation. More information on this will come on Compass.

SSA Basketball

On Friday 11th August, a team of Grade 4, 5 and 6 students played basketball,

against teams of students in our school sporting organising. Our students had a fantastic day and we would like to extend a huge thank you to our parents helpers on the day.

We are excited to share that our Interschool Girls Basketball were champions on the day and will progress to the next stage.

We want to take this opportunity to celebrate Addison Giles who has been competing in the Australian Schools Football Championships. We also congratulate Kaitlyn Dunbabin who has been selected for the Victorian basketball squad for the Victoria Basketball Jamboree.

We also congratulate the students who will be participating in the Division Athletics in September.
