Welcome back to all our library community in Semester Two!

Term Three is an exciting term for libraries as we celebrate Book Week and Library and Information Week.

Library and Information Week 31 July to 6 August (Week Three)

This is the week where we celebrate the work that library and information workers do all around Australia. This has been celebrated since 1968 and this year’s theme is “Where’s the source?” and libraries most certainly are a source of information. For more information you can visit the website here: Library and Information Week - 2023 (alia.org.au)

Book Week 19 August to 25 August (Week Six)

This year the theme for book Week is “Read, Grow, Inspire”. We are combining Science Week and Book Week together this year. More information next week!

Scholastic Book Club

Book Club forms will be handed to classes this week and are due back on Friday 4 August.

There are two options for ordering.

  1. Use your own Scholastic account to order and pay online. If you would like to set up a new account go to:

http://scholastic.com.au/register

  1. Please enclose cash with your completed order form. Cheques should be made payable to Scholastic Australia. Your completed forms can be handed in to the Library.

It is wonderful to be back in our school library after a wonderful, relaxing six months of leave. I look forward working with our school library community in the semester ahead.

Alan's Birthday

Wednesday 26 June was Alan the therapy dog’s second birthday.  In homeroom (Mokare 3, Mrs Cooper) we had a carob, doggy cupcake for Alan and sang Happy Birthday to him. Alan also bought in choc-orange cupcakes to share with the homeroom. Alan loves to come to school on Wednesday and Friday to meet all the students.  Besides getting pats from everyone, his other favourite activity is to clean up everyone’s crumbs after recess and lunch.  Thank you to everyone who treats Alan so kindly.
