Principal's Report

We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people.

May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.

Helping in the Classroom

I still have very fond memories of having parent support in my classroom as a teacher. Not only did it support the effectiveness of focused teaching opportunities for children, as well as increase the level of support that can be provided to children, it also enhanced the relationship between myself and the parents helping in my classroom.

The teachers at our school are very keen to build relationships with classroom helpers and to maximise the learning potential for every child in their classroom through additional support that classroom helpers can provide.

This afternoon you may receive a letter seeking parent support in the classroom. I strongly encourage families to consider if they have the capacity to assist - your support would be greatly appreciated by both our teachers and students.

Assembly

It's that time of the week again. We are looking forward to seeing lots of families at our school assembly this Friday at 2:45 pm.

We hope that you have enjoyed the sunshine this week and we look forward to seeing you at assembly.

Kylie Nissen.
