A message from our Principal
Dear St. Brendan's School Community,
Thank you to parents that either attended our Parent Teacher Conversations face to face or by phone. This has been very well attended. We have another session on Monday. Thanks to all teachers for their work.
FIRE Carriers
This Friday we have the FIRE Carriers Ceremony for selected students in Year 5/6 and Year 5/6 teachers. Families of the children selected are most welcome to attend this ceremony on Friday at 9am in the Hall. Information has previously been sent on the School App. Students in the classes will watch the ceremony in their classrooms.
Book Week
All students have been working on their own books for Book Week. We welcome all parents to come into their child's classroom to look at their books they have produced.
Classrooms will be open from 9-10am to allow parents with a few children to attend all their children's rooms. We look forward to seeing many parents here next Friday, 25th August.
Athletics/Save the Date: Friday, 1st September
All students are spending time preparing for our Annual Athletics Day. This is always a great day for our students. A Coffee Van has been organised by Parents and Friends.
Hopefully we will have good weather on the day. In the event of rain, we will hold the Athletics Day on Friday, 8th September.
ICAS
Students that participated in the ICAS Assessment English online completed the Assessment on Monday. The next Assessment, Mathematics will be on Tuesday, 29th August. Well done to students who entered this competition.
Reminder - Working with Children Checks
Just a reminder to check your Working with Children's Check as we have a large number that have expired. As a volunteer, there is no payment to be made.
Please go to Working with Children Check Victoria website. These are needed to be able to come into classrooms to hear children read, go on excursions etc.
The Matilda's Soccer Team
Our students were very excited to follow the Matilda's, and there has been lots of discussion on their games. The Matilda's are great role models for our students.
Kind regards,
Paula Stevenson
