What's Happening

House Athletics

 

For the first time in living memory the weather was glorious for the 2023 House Athletics which was held at Bill Sewart athletics track.

In the past students have had to compete in jumpers and jackets to stave off near freezing conditions but this year was different.  Shorts and t shirts in House colours was the order of the day as students jumped, threw and ran to contribute points for their Houses.  Several weeks of hard work and training was clearly evident as the children got to show off their athletics skills to the many parents and carers who volunteered to help on what turned out to be a fantastic day.

 Each House held the lead at different stages throughout the day with Parsons (Green House) being the eventual winner by a ridiculously close 2 points over Streeton (Yellow House).

I have been running trials for many of our students as they now try to make it into the school team for the District Athletics which take place on Friday 1st Sept.  The team will hopefully be finalised and announced next week.

Thank you to all who came to support and help including our fabulous 3 to 6 staff.

Planning for next year has already begun !
