From Garden
to Plate
The sun was out for us today! We were able to have an enjoyable afternoon in our garden planting our seedlings which we planted from seeds last term. The Grade 3/4s were so excited to see how much their seeds had grown! We planted them into our garden beds ready for the winter ahead. We planted silverbeet, broccoli, cauliflower, broadbeans and spring onions.
In the kitchen we made dumplings. They were a little different from what we were used to, pumpkin and silverbeet. The grade 1/2s learnt how to use a knife safely today. Many of them were a little nervous but they were so proud of themselves once they had their first go. No fingers were lost thankfully!
We also made a quick guacamole using our very own fresh limes from the garden. This was very new to all of us but went down a treat with some crunchy corn chips!
