Foundation and Year 1/2
Wet Day Program
The rain earlier in the week, did not stop Foundation and Year 1/2 from having fun during Recess time. It was great to see the students sitting around in groups playing various board games. Board games are a great way to build our communication and turn taking skills. They teach us how to follow instructions and understand how others may think, while promoting collaboration, inquiry, and critical thinking.
Money, Money, Money!
In Numeracy, the Year 1/2 students have been learning how to recognise, describe, order and count Australian coins according to their value. As well as count the change required for simple transactions. The students were set the challenge to find as many different combinations to equal $1 as possible. Their outstanding total was 26. Can you find all 50 combinations?
Year 2/3 & Year 3/4
In our Inquiry Unit this term 'Move, Improve, Invent!' students are exploring simple machines and how they move. We will be talking about different types of forces such as push and pull, gravity and friction.
Our first session was to make a paper plane and test it for distanced travelled. We then discussed why some planes went further than others and how we could make changes to improve the design of our plane and the launch, to see if they would travel further than the first throw.
I learnt that if you put more pressure in your throwing, your paper plane can go a little further. Kushi
It was lots of fun to see some planes fly so far because it depends on their design how far they went. Shamus

Year 5/6
(Written by students Jaxon and Ethan)
This past week our class has been very eventful as we have been doing a presentation on the Feeding Of The Five Thousand. We have also been presenting our work on "Heart Attacks" to Marie and her Year Two/Three class. We did some research on heart attacks, how they are caused and what happens in an attack, so we could be educated about these serious events and how to avoid them.
Lately in our class we have also been focusing on respect and how we can respect others.
Now we would like to thank Debbie for teaching us these past two weeks and we would like to wish Marty a warm welcome back during the weekend.
