SMR Senior Table Tennis

Our senior table tennis team showcased their skill and determination at the SMR tournament. With their impressive performance, they secured notable victories along the way. While they narrowly missed reaching the finals, their exceptional teamwork and sportsmanship shone brightly. We're incredibly proud of their efforts and look forward to their continued success in future competitions.

Weekly sport

Weekly sport is a big feature of Kingston Division Sport and sees our year 7 and 8 students complete weekly against other schools in our area. Term 3 sports include Basketball, Futsal and Table Tennis.

A highlight of term 1 weekly sport was our year 7 boys and year 8 girls and boys volleyball teams who all finished Kingston Champions! These three teams then went on to represent Kingston Division at the Southern Metro Regional finals early term 2. We continued our Volleyball success as our Year 7 boys and year 8 girls won Regionals! We now look forward to seeing these two teams represent our region at the State Finals later this year in term 4.

SMR Senior Badminton

After winning the Kingston division, our students went on to compete in the regional finals early in the term. The boys put up a solid stand against some big name schools, however it was not enough as we missed out on making it through to the finals on a set countback. The boys have ensured that they continue training and can re group for 2024 to have another crack at making it through to the state title.

Westall Athletics

This year we had to run our athletics carnival a bit differently due to some issues with access to facilities. We got lucky with the weather as what was forecast to be an overcast/rainy day opened up to shine favourably on us for our 2023 Westall Athletics Carnival, considering our last athletics carnival was rained out. The busy day went off without a problem as Dennis went on to win the day with a whopping 742 points, almost 200 points clear of the next closest house.

A big thank you goes out to all staff for their help on what was an extremely busy day. Congratulations to all our event winners who now have been entered to represent Westall at the Kingston Carnival later on in term 3. Well done and thank you to all students and teachers for their support and assistance of sport so far in 2023.

Looking forward to continued success for the remainder of the year!
