WELC – Term 3

We are now halfway through Term 3. I returned from my leave and have enjoyed meeting all the new students who started in Term 2 and this term.  We have had 27 new students start in the Language Centre and they have settled in well. Our Language Centre now has 66 students and we encourage all of them to use their time well in WELC and to speak English with other students in order to improve quickly.

Many of our students are participating in swimming lessons at Monash University with our Swimming in Schools funding. Students are having a great time developing important swimming skills which they can use throughout their lives.

Our students participated in the Westall Athletics competition last week. It was great to see students trying out different events, even if they’d never done it before. Students participated in a variety of events with some of our students winning their events.

We will hold Parent Teacher interviews next week and we encourage all families to come and meet with teachers to discuss their child’s progress and room for improvement. Many students will exit our Language Centre at the end of this term and this is a good opportunity to discuss with us the best year level and school for your child for next term.

As always, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s learning.
