Assistant Principal’s Update

What a momentous time at Clifton Hill Primary School!

On Monday 7th August, our new building was officially opened by the Minister for Education, Natalie Hutchins and the Member for Northern Metropolitan, Enver Erdogan. Megan Smith and Natalie Hutchins made speeches in the short rooftop ceremony and Luca and Dolly (Grade 6 Captains) were given the special job of cutting the ribbon! Special thanks to Bryony Nayagam (School Council President) and Brian Bird (previous School Council President) who were able to attend the ceremony and were instrumental in the process of making our building a reality!

The Grade 6 students have settled into their new classrooms on the second level and they were recently joined by their Grade 5 peers . We encourage everyone to be in the moment and enjoy this special time of being the first to experience new learning spaces.

We know that there are many people who are interested in a tour of the building – stay tuned for upcoming opportunities. We look forward to sharing our wonderful new space with everyone.

Camp Jungai

Last week Grade 4 students attended Camp Jungai in the Rubicon Valley. The camp had a strong nature based focus, whilst building creativity, critical thinking, foresight and collaboration skills. The students were mentored by a local indigenous leader and camp staff. The reports from the camp were overwhelmingly positive! The teachers were very proud of our kids and their camp behaviour. We extend our gratitude to the Grade 4 teachers and parent helpers who volunteered to make the camp such a success.

In early September our Grade 3 students will be attending their first camp – we wish them well as they start to prepare.

The school continues to be a bustling hive of activity, with many wonderful and engaging experiences.

Some exciting events coming up:

- Book Week Incursions for each year level
