Primary Zone Swimming Carnival
The Sporting Schools program for primary schools helps to provide a range of sporting programs that will increase children’s interest and participation in sport. It also aims to create stronger links between children and local sporting clubs, nurturing a lifelong love of sport.
Sporting Schools offers funding each term to provide sports activities before, during and after school hours.
GYMNASTICS
On Friday the 16th of February, Stage One Yellow and Stage One Purple students traveled to Armidale to participate in a Gymnastics program that has been funded by the Governments Sporting Schools Grant. The focus of the program is on fundamental movement patterns that help children progress and develop skills. All games and activities are safe and encourage children to work with others and build self-esteem. Participating students had a fantastic time during their first lesson and they look forward to continue learning and developing new skills, the program will finish in March. Stage One Teal and Early Stage One Orange students will be provided with the opportunity to participate in this wonderful program next term.
On Thursday 22nd February, many student's from Stage 1 - Stage 3 travelled to Armidale to compete in the Armidale Zone Swimming Carnival. Although the competition was tough, all students that competed on the day were happy with their performances. It was fantastic to see our students taking pride in our school, encouraging each other and cheering one another on throughout the day.
Official results will be available in the coming days for students who will progress to the North West Swimming Carnival to be held on Monday 6th March 2018. Thank you to all the family and friends who transported students and attended the carnival. Thank you to Mr Stephen Alletsee for coordinating the day.
