Year 7 Girls Regional Basketball Report

Congratulations Mitchell Dielemans

Congratulations to past student Mitchell Dielemans who receives the full-time NBL1 call-up following a stellar three year stint with the VYC Cobras, one which saw him named to the All-VYC Team in 2018. Dielemans led the VYC in scoring in 2018 with 20.5 points per game, while finishing third in three-pointers made (2.6 3PM), fourth in assists (4.0apg), and shooting a league-best 86.5 percent from the free throw line to cap a dominant season.

Victorian School Sports Award Winner

Congratulations Charlie Collins!

On Thursday the 14th of March the 25th annual Victorian School Sports award ceremony was held at the MCG. Our very own Charlie Collins was presented with a Sporting Blue award for Baseball. These sports awards are the most prestigious sporting accolades in Victoria’s government school system and the Sporting Blue award is a reflection of the high standard of talent and dedication demonstrated by aspiring young athletes.

Charlie is an incredibly talented baseballer. In 2018 he represented Victoria at the National Baseball championships in Sydney, and made the Australian Under 15 World Cup team that competed in Panama. This year he has been invited by a Boston Red Sox talent scout to play baseball in a tournament throughout the USA.  Charlie was also recently awarded the Victorian School Sports Excellence Scholarship Award and will take part in the Under 18’s Schoolboys tournament this month.

Congratulations Charlie. We look forward to following your sporting journey.

2019 Maroondah Division Swimming Champions

What a fantastic day at Ringwood Aquanation on Monday. We had over 50 competitors representing the school in various individual and team swimming events.

We had some outstanding individual performances, and some amazing team relay results on the day. Well done to everybody and a big thankyou to all those students that swam out of their age group or filled in at the last minute for students that were absent. It is your willingness to have a go, encourage each other and support the team that ensures Ringwood Secondary College maintains the title of Division Champions year after year.

Good luck to all those student competing at the Region event on Tuesday.

Swimming highlights of the day included our Age Group Champions: Betty Geng, Finlay Hughes, Cade Cavanagh, Zali Beck, Tarni Cavanagh, Dean Kelly and Kade Caulfield-Knight.
